Wesleyan University of Haiti School of Nursing Sciences

  • 30 Haitian students enrolled in first year
  • Four year Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Annual tuition: $2, 500 USD/ year
  • Tuition provides: textbooks, uniforms, laptop computer, and one meal per day.

Why does LaGonave need nurses?
  • The new Wesleyan Hospital which opened in early 2015 requires double the current staff.
  • According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Haitian health outcomes are worse than Africa.
  • Haiti has the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the world.
  • Seventy percent of the women of LaGonave give birth at home without medical care.

  • $25: Hot lunch for 2 weeks
  • $50: Uniforms for 1 year for one student
  • $100: Help with textbooks
  • $212: Sponsor a student for one month
  • $2500: Sponsor a student for an entire year.
